Mitch's lifelong interest in human development and behavior lead him to work in the field of human services. He obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology (cum laude), and then to a master's degree in social work in 1998. Since 1995 he has enjoyed working in a variety of community, medical, and clinical settings, focused primarily on the safety and well-being of at-risk and special needs children and teens, and their families. He is licensed by the State of Texas to conduct clinical practice, and is licensed as a clinical supervisor (TSBSWE lic. #32786).
Diagnostic areas of focus include, but not limited to: Mood Disorder, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD), Asperger's Syndrome, perfectionism, Sensory Integration Disorder, ADHD, Oppositional-Defiant Disorder (ODD), and other behavior disorders.
Mitch specializes in social skills training and groups session for children on the autism spectrum. Mitch is a resource specialist with an extensive knowledge of complimentary interventions and community resources that pertain to a child's medical health, development, behavior and overall wellbeing. Mitch is also provides professional support for parents dealing with their child's public school Special Education services.
Mitch finds his therapy inside a good expresso drink and book, doing the hot-yoga thing, creating music and video works, and hanging out with family and a few solid friends.
